Mr. Lofton began his career doing grass roots and lobbying work for the elderly as an advocate of Oregon Fair Share. While in law school, he clerked with the United States Department of Justice. After passing the Oregon Bar, he worked as an Associate Attorney with Kasson & Murr of Beaverton, Oregon, in the areas of elder law, estate planning and consumer protection. In 1992, he took the position of Regional Corporate Counsel for the Portland Oregon office of SBI, a multistate corporation. Subsequently, after passing the Washington Bar, he became the Managing Partner of Legal Benefits, a multistate Law Firm (later known as Lofton & Associates, Inc. P.S.), before merging with Dennis Brislawn to form Brislawn Lofton PLLC.

He has worked with certified financial planners, CPA’s and other professionals in the tax and estate planning fields for much of his legal career, and has conducted numerous asset protection, probate and trust administration seminars at the request of local organizations throughout the Northwest. He is generally available 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and encourages calls from anyone who needs legal advice regarding their business, estate or tax status.
